Can't lie...I enjoyed reading his comments on his old account. Seems like a good guy. Maybe someday I'll get the chance to have him calling my hook for me.

Set some iron today. Set up a 40T hydro to setup a 300T and then setup a 60T to set iron with. Finish tearing the 300 down tomorrow. Then Wednesday next week got a 600T coming. *sigh*..

So back on track. Detailed this car. I use tape to mark scratches that will get removed before waxing. This car was flawless in terms of swirls/scratches other then a few spots. So all it needed was spot buffing.

Interior Sheen using Meguiars interior Detailer. I haven't found a better interior cleaner that is safe on ALL surfaces including Nav screens, has a ZERO grease look and leaves some protection behind. I've tried a TON of products. I keep coming back to this one.

Can't believe i'm just now finding this thread. LOL Wasn't real big into detailing before i bought my truck, but after spending a good chunk of change on a black truck i became addicted to keeping it clean. Either the dealer had the paint corrected before i bought it, or the PO was just anal about it keeping it clean as well as theres virtually no swirls or scratches. So far i've had it 6 months, and wash it at least every other week. It is a bit time consuming though, doing a 2 bucket wash with Meguiars D111 Shampoo, dry it with a leaf blower, then do a complete wipedown with some D156 spray wax. "Clayed" it with a nanskin mitt and use Collinite 845. Also hit the tires, front valence, and mirrors with some D170 Hyper Dressing. Constantly having people ask me if its a '17, when its a '14 with 64k miles.

Also working on taking this hobby a little more seriously. Spent some $$$ last week and bought DA polisher, bunch of pads, Pinnacle compound and polish, Sonax one step polish, and Megiuars D151 AIO. My truck doesn't really need any correction, but we have plenty of other vehicles i'm going to learn on and hopefully make a little money from it at some point. Can't freaking wait till we have a decent shop where i can do some legit detailing work compared to jumping between a friends shop 40 minutes away or doing everything in the driveway.

Looks good Jimmy. Just one problem. You will need double or triple that amount of tools and supplies to really dig in to detailing. Glad to hear the bug bit you. Pretty soon, you will be waxing that mini. LOL

Oh believe me, i've been thinking about how i want to tackle the equipment. LOL Everything here is ours except the tracked Kubota. Might do some test spots with the D151 AIO just to see what happens.

Nice truck JD! I always tell people plan on spending about $1,000 to start detailing. I have about $1,000 just in MF towels..

I see you ordered D151. It's a great AIO, if you like trying products, give HD speed a try, its also an AIO, But I like it better the D151.

Lol. I still haven't touched my truck, what's the saying? The shoe maker has bad shoes, etc, etc.

Nice job Jomax! That shine is unreal!

Thanks! The wax I used is Menzerna Powerlock. Good stuff. But the shine comes from how perfect you make the paint. This car literally has ZERO swirls or scratches on the paint. I'm the only person that touches this car. It's also only seen a wash with a hose maybe 5 times in its life. This car only sees waterless washes or rinseless washes.

anyone using a water deionizer ?
Ive been thinking about getting the dirinse system but not sure if I really need it.
My water measures at 26-28 ppm but I am getting waterspots.
I suspect from rain/sprinklers more then anything after measuring my water source.

Has anyone checked out obsessed garage on YouTube? He has some pretty good videos on detailing, pressure washers, deionizers^, lighting, cabinets and almost anything garage related.
