Head slipped when lowering it with the hoist. Chain bound up slightly and the head came down. Wasn't sure if it contacted the block so I raised it up again to inspect it. Couldn't see any damage and I was going to climb down off the front. Foot slipped on the bumper and I grabbed the block to steady myself. Grabbed the gasket instead. Sliced it almost to the bone, and damn near clean off. Cant even stitch it. Perfect. Cant tear stitches when there are none. Back at it tomorrow, but likely wont get it running by Monday now. Worst part is I bent the gasket enough that I dont want to use it. Ordered and extra just in case. Kids helping now, so planning for the worst. Haha. If wrenching was a video game he would be a master tech.... But it's not.

Youch dude! Tape that thing up and get after it!

Already did. Just took forever to get my tetnis shot and check for any nerve damage. Wife wouldnt let me just cut it off and tape it up.

damn dude, that sucks! one reason I wear gloves as much as possible, but some things you have to do without gloves on. hopefully you heal quick and your son can finish it up with your instructions.

Going against my doctors orders... I used the second gasket and installed the driverside head. LOL

Studs are in but jr gets to torque them in the morning.

if you take a small piece of flat metal, i use 1/2 x 1/8, put two bends in it where your knuckles are, bent at whatever angle you figure you need it to be, and then decide on a length.

either 1-2 inches into your palm if you need to not use your finger, or right at where finger meets your palm, and your finger becomes completely usable, no needing to worry bout bending it, touching it, or paying attention to whether or not your using it.

with your cut being on the inside of your finger, the plate will keep you from opening it up again, as the plate will keep you from pushing on just the cut, it will spread out all the "push".

dont know how well the pic will show up, but see the scar on the thumb? then picture every dark or light line on the index finger going the same direction as the one on the thumb, from knuckle to knuckle, being a scar as well.

chainsaw was hungry that day. little superglue, used my plate, 15 mins later was back finishing trimming the tree. superglue and a plate is your best friend.

and fwiw, there is matching cuts on the other hand. stitches are overrated.

o, also, black tape. not anything else. at least for me.

black tape holds up all day, dragging brush, running saw, wrenching, etc etc. duck tape will chafe and irritate your skin like mad, and regular bandage/hospital tape is not durable enough.

black tape is epic for human repair, as well as electrical repair.

Nu-skin works, try it. Also, a good athletic tape works good. I use a lot of Johnson and Johnson Zonas tape and it's held up really well.

Hope your finger is doing better. I cut a chunk out of my index finger a couple months ago. Still kinda hurts when I try to turn a bolt really hard.

It is running!!!

Waiting for my down pipe and have to sort out 3 dtc and a fuel leak at the front of the block driverside. But it started as soon as I put new batteries in it.
