Ford as a company should stand up and take care of this - and then take up the issue with the dealer that does ****ty work. I would be PISSED if I had a dealer in my network that was doing sub par work. Ford should be very concerned with a warranty claim that was done incorrectly the first time.

Days out of service would be his claim...and in what state doesn't matter as I understand it. Out of service is out of service....lemon law claim would be filed in Texas.
I'll update tomorrow after he meets with the rep.

In for update also

Interesting tidbit...truck went to NM dealer for an external fuel leak. NM dealer says cause is an injector o-ring incorrectly installed by TX dealer.
TX dealer installed a whole new engine assembly...never laid hands on an injector.
And since when do injectors leak externally?
Waiting on an update myself now...

30 days out of service... that's child's play haha.

Good luck, I surely never had any dealing with Ford or any of the 6 different dealers my truck went to for warranty work. FoMoCo basically told me to pound sand since they have no control over their dealers, they're independently owned.

Hope he gets it resolved. In to see where this one goes...

Rich - as mentioned, he shouldn't have to pay anything out of pocket for warranty work, especially in a scenario like this. He's making the right move by taking an attorney in.

Heard that! I got told to ***k off on a recall by the dealer that did all the service. Also, they had one of my trucks off and on for six months. Up to a month at a time. They would give it to me and say "it's ready to go." Then the clock starts over. A week later it'd be right back there.

In Texas it's 30 days...doesn't have to be continuous....just 30 days total.

Still fighting with them. The owner of the dealership told him today they were still waiting on an injector to fix it and he would have to wait a couple more days....AFTER a tech had showed him the repaired truck in the parking lot and started it for him.
He's still trying to get an area rep out there and has retained a lawyer in town.
It's not over yet...someone sure is lying though.

Does he have a spare set of keys? However I understand steeling your own truck would not help his situation, but it would be temping say the least...

Oh yea...they're saying now that a fuel line got crimped by the TX dealer and caused the injector to blow out an o-ring.
Their stories would be comical if it weren't happening to my brother. lol

I would be telling them to buy it back. Now that it's over 30 days down, it doesn't matter if they fix it or not.

It was the dealership trying to screw him and 2 people at Ford that didn't know wtf they were doing. He finally got an area rep on the phone today...it was resolved within 5 minutes and the original 2 people that sided with the dealer are gonna be retrained according to the rep.
He said it certainly never should have happened like it did. My brother got his truck back today and didn't pay a dime since it's still under 36K miles.

That's cool that everything got fixed an no out of pocket expense, but i think its complete bullchit your brother had to go through that. If it were me, id tell that rep I wanted free oil changes or something along those lines for having to deal with all this for no reason.
