Was driving tonight an it started missing and got a po281 code. I'm gonna check the copression this week and see if it's a cracked piston or bad injector.

Oughta be able to take oil cap off with it running and tell if getting compression in crank case from a cylinder... of course mine had a hole in the piston as well as being cracked in half but it was plenty obvious when pulled oil cap.

The blow by looked normal wen it broke.

Maybe you get lucky and just have a bad injector...

I'm jus scared it may have damaged the piston to though.

I had number 3 go bad on mine and it looked good when I tore down. It never would throw a cel, it would start missing and could kill it and restart and run fine awhile, I drove it till it completely dropped that cylinder and threw a code.

if its not chugging out the oil fill , its prolly not a piston. the ccv will also dump oil big time. don't ask me how I know.

The truck doesn't seem to have excess blowby and no oil Colin out of ccv. So I'm hoping for the best.
