See if you can send me a pic of the exhaust housing casting numbers. Spools pretty late for a .9 housing. Ill try to take a video of how my charger brings up boost.

Throw a 62 on there. I bet a 80 feeding a 62 would be an animal on the street.

I agree with everyone else. Should have probably saw this problem coming. If it were me I'd put a 75 or compounds. Craig ran an s480 and saw zero gain over a 475

The thing about doing that is, the 80 he has isn't really what would be best for a compound set up. He'd be much better off with an 80/96/1.32.

If you for sure can't get it to spool as desired, I would just get in contact with the turbo supplier and see if they will change the compressor wheel and cover to a 75mm.

Didn't Craig's truck go slower with the 80?

If its gated right, that .9 housing may be fun or compounds.

Not that I didn't expect lag but when identical setups are bringing on boost 1000 Rpm's earlier something isn't right. I'm debating going two ways right now at the moment

I think the main problem is that its a journal bearing charger. And big one at that. That charger would work great for compounds if you went to a 1.10 housing.

Have you tried giving it more throttle through the first few gears? With mine, it spools much faster with half throttle and isn't smokey on Matt's tunes. Anything past half throttle and it gets smokey quick.

It's not too terrible dding but just keeping the smoke under control is the issue. I want to get it live tuned and see how it runs with that first. If not I may Think about trying 60% nozzles and see how that goes. I agree that it being a journal bearing doesn't help. Like I said plans were for possibly making it a compound but honestly the side action kit is really catching my eye as well seeing that I already have an 80mm

Well ended up going a different route with the truck and something a little more mild. Went back to a single II pump, 60% nozzles, HD up pipes, a WOP wastegate, and a 73mm atmo. I'm thinking I'll upgrade the hp to a 59mm the probably leave the motor for a while. Truck runs pretty clean on gearhead tuning and the power is pretty impressive. I need to finish up some little odds and ends then it'll be 100% complete. I'm waiting on a fitting for the wastegate. Any tips on tuning them? From what I understand, datalog a few runs and dial in the gate to open at approx 85lbs EBP. Absoulte ebp?
