Nope not at all! My issue is imported products as a whole! Normally the quality of the material is lower in import products. This is not always the case, but most products being built off shore and being done to reduce cost and make them cheaper. By the time you add the "landed" cost to freight items over the Pacific, the product has to be made so much cheaper that something has to give. This is usually either done in the form of reduced cost in material or in the labor that puts the product together. This is about a better solution to the radiator problem, I feel the solution should come from within our country. We have looked at imported products in our line and stayed away from it for these very reason's.

Finally people are starting to get it. I own a cnc machine shop and it makes me so glad that some companies are starting to realize the cost difference due to shipping and lead time is making things very competitively price here in the USA...especially when quality is a concern on parts that might leave you stranded on the side of the road somewhere....Lets not get into the fact that Boeing sources all of their airplane parts to the lowest bidder around the world....

/end rant.

i honestly doubt im gonna *** with a radiator. after having it drawn and shopping cores, good luck keeping the price down. there's just too many things that bolt to it, custom flanges, etc for it to be worth while as an investment. they will cost more than an intercooler all said and done. thats only within my limited resources, sean prolly has other folks up his sleeve.

The mounting for the radiator alone makes things pretty complicated minus all the other stuff that has to be attatched. I had high hopes you.would have a replacement.

How much $ we talking here? I would be willing to spend money and get it done once than keep spending $800 every year on a new stocker.

And after looking at it I knew it was gonna be tough to replicate out of aluminum. So many little details.

The goal is to try for the $1000 mark, and yes there is a ton of things attached to this thing. Keep you posted as the project moves forward.

That's pretty much what I though you were going to find. Its a pretty big undertaking and your going to spend about twice the amount of a stock replacement to do a full aluminum one.

I give you props for trying though.

I was told that there is a guy local to me building all aluminum ones but I never did get his number, supposedly he builds them for oil company's around here. I will look into it a little and see what I can find, when I was told about this my truck had a brand new radiator in it from ford

Yea see what you can find.

Has anyone used the DPP aftermarket one? It looks good and all, but not sure if its actually been tested by one of our members
