Being mostly stock, you really don't need to spend the money on custom tunes unless you swap injectors. PHP has plenty of good tunes for most anything your gonna do with the truck. I would buy a Hydra, try out the tunes you like and see how it does. If after that you feel you need custom, talk...

If your gonna go SRW keep in mind that axle is wider than a SRW. I could fix that bed with a new bed side at the most. Depends also on the rest of the bed too, not much point doing a bed side if the rest of the bed is showing it's age.

I got one years ago, and I could tell the difference. I think today with my set up it's a good deal that helps with smoothness.

Billet pistons too, LOL. Some people really have no business owning anything with wheels, LOL. Guys like that kill me, they think if they go out spend a bunch of money on some go fast diesel truck all they have to do is put fuel in it. I,m happy to say I built mine :)

Sounds like I need to ditch my resistor mod on the wiring, LOL.

I,ve been wondering about this too. I got a Hydra a while back, and still have a resistor inline as a fooler mod. Wonder if I should just put it back to stock. might run different, might not. I can hit 31 32 lbs now in my 120 P tune easy.

I really like mine, need to look into some different tunes though, but so far with Bill's tuning it rocks. Just have to make up my mind on who else's tunes to run now, money is the big thing.

I see 125 150 most of the time, and my sensor is in the pan. I think that's a good place because your getting a reading from the fluid that was in the trans before the pump gets it and runs it through the cool and back through the trans. I think having it in the "test port" make it read slightly...

Cool, I had to pick up some more paint at Menard's and they had hole saws on sale. Picked up a 3.5 and a 1 3/4 for cutting the tube ends so I can weld them. Dan. Oh and thanks, LOL.

I can see a big drop in EGT's over the DP I had after switching to the Hydra, I'm running Bill's tune now and I,m pretty happy with them. I think his tuning is smooth, especially the at idle compared to DP, also much quieter. My injectors don't sound like their beating them selves to death :) !!

Does anyone know the dia. of the axle tube ? I could measure it I guess, but I thought maybe some would know off hand. I,m going to start on the traction bars here soon.

Just read that, don't feel bad I did that to both of mine with a ball joint press that doubles as a U joint press. Problem is the axle joints are huge compared to a U joint in a drive shaft so it didn't work real well, but it got the job done. I had to take the stub shafts and beat them to hell...

No, a tuner will tune for transmission mods, but that only for all out builds like a BTS, more to do with the valve body to help with shifting quality. Dan

The sway bar mounts get worn and cause all kinds of racket, I ended up replacing all of my stuff with Energy Suspension parts, rebushed all the ends and new mounts for the bars, made a hell of a difference. Dan

What about the inner axle seals on either side of the diff. ? I think may have one or both leaking after having the axle shafts out a few times in the last couple weeks. Anyone come up with a good DIY tool for installing those?

Ok, thanks. I was thinking the same thing too about mine, putting a bung in one end so I can adjust it if need be. You can buy Pro comp's that are just a bar with cross ends like I was gonna do, but I do like the idea of being able to adjust them some. I,ve got all the pipe here for the bars...

Did you get the u joint to tight? I had one half tied up, axle would creep and stop in the right spot not letting the wheel turn. If you gave it a hard yank it would snap loose and be all over the road a ways then drive some what ok till it did it again.

You can remove the bracket in inside the main one and put it ant way you want, tighten down the u bolt. Not sure it would hold, but I would just weld mine and know its not gonna move.
