Its getting a vnt off a detroit 60 and a precision modded gt55 down the road with titanium rods, socal coated pistons, cam, head studs, tally ported heads, upgraded valve train, socal billet main caps, main girdle, upgraded engine plate, exergy sticks and efi live, all backed by an allison 6 speed. For now jus stock lower end with socal head studs and the vnt with efi live

Well, got the lb7 parting out cuz i finally found a cummins worth buying! FINALLY!! So th lb7 has to be removed to make way!

Well, i wanted a Cummins from day one, but couldnt come across one reasonably. The duramax was a last resort.

Slow but certain progress. Pickin up the cummins soon then getting it bored and giving it some coated marine pistons! The head will be o-ringed as well and ported. Not right away, but down the road when its ready for go fast mods. Sourcing a transmission. Looking at the possibility of an eaton 10spd, but we'll see where the road takes me. Went to put the steering column in and found somehow one of the mounting tabs was broke off so need a new column!

Daily drive and towing. No negative comments necessary. I like eatons and im comfortable driving them. That and for the price of them and the clutches for them, cant go wrong

well, found a number of eaton 10spd's for less than 1k and all the parts numbers needed to put it behind the 5.9!

Well, the new rear end is home! Low mileage AAM 1150 w/govloc and 3.73 gears out of a duramax! Spring pin width is 49 inches where-as sterling 10.25 is 48 inch spring pin width. Should bolt right in! There is enough wiggle room in the springs to account for that 1 inch! Another positive... Disc brakes! Just need my 3 inch blocks and get the u-bolt clamps and get some u-bolts made and shes in! Then on to the 3 inch rsk up front and gear swap! Anyone wanna trade their dana 60 3.73s for my 4.10s? I still have the sterling rear so we can trade a matched set! After rsk comes track bars for the rear!

What are you going to do about the speed/abs tone ring in ford axles. Dont know if the GM axle has it or if your going to do that another way

Not going to have abs. And its getting a p-pump 24v with the eaton (i found one cheap) ill us gps for speed till i figure out something for a speedo! The best thing about tonight... I traded a turbo, some random 7.3 parts, and some scrap for this rear end and a 78 bronco mud truck!

All parts minus compressor, tank, air lines and transfer case is priced out for the eaton swap. 1500 to 1700 for the trans, flywheel housing, flywheel, clutch, clutch brake, pilot bearin and starter! Pickin up motor before too long. Priced out a colt big stick, hamilton 110lb springs, hamilton extreme duty pushrods, scheid stainless lines, marine valve cover, studs, engine overhaul kit (to convert 12v short block to 24v) and a gt4094r. Gotta talk to matt at contagious about my sticks and pump!

well, hit some snags... Ordered in the axle plates to put the u-bolts the gm way with the nuts under the axle and them are for 2.5 inch springs... Got the old axle out and rolled the new axle under and my buddy and i were only about 4 inches off on spring perch width. Have to cut the perches off and narrow em. Dammit! So plasma cutting and welding is in store for this weekend! On a positive note, the cummins will be here soon and in for machine then rsk, then engine rebuild kit with goodies! Heres a pic of tonights work. More to come tomorrow in better light! Bye bye drum brakes!

The truck is outside. If this project would have taken a few weeks i would have had it in our shop but no can do when im doing it at this pace

heres some more. Axle will be done this weekend! As you can see the axle is not centered. I did this to set in the blocks to measure u-bolt length
