70mm Exhaust Turbine

Looking to test the the 67.7/74 to see if it will spool as fast and produce the same boost numbers as quick as the 70mm does. The 67.7 does flow 100 more CFM but will it produce the pressure the 64.5 does. Boost at preset MPH will also be compared. Back pressure vs Boost number will also be compared.
Track times along with Towing information is also being compared. Final Turbo Test will be the New BW 69/74/91 Turbo when it comes out in the spring. Stay Tuned. D
Big Thanks to Craig and Bobby at Maryland Performance Diesel and Jacob at High Tech Turbo.

When done, would it be possible for you to out all this in a spreadsheet/matrix format for future reference? Appreciate the trials you are doing, will help the rest of us!

I have a lot of info and need to put in a format and try to make sense out so everyone can use it. Right now it's all on legal pads. LOL

Turbo swap complete. Took about 2-1/2 hours to complete with the service on the engine. Motor sounds a little different at start up and a little quieter. Most definitely moved the power band up the RPM range. Spool is 100 - 150 RPM later than the 70mm but not bad. Still trying to get better numbers on that but can tell the difference. What I have noticed is more power above 2400 RPM. Peek boost for the 70mm on my setup was 48lbs. I recorded a peek of 47.7 yesterday but I sure I can do better I really wasn't on it to hard. I will get better info Today and tomorrow and post. Just early observation of what I've seen so far. I put another sensor port on the discharge side of the cooler to see if that is a restriction for me. I have to program that in so I can record it. Never fails every time I get excited about testing again all it does is rain. D

Yes stock bottom end. I send out oil analysis every oil change and use Petro Canada Full Synthetic motor from the start at 16 miles. Not that it helps but I try to keep a eye on it.

With the S365 70mm @ 1800 RPM I'm into the 20's, @ 2000 RPM I'm into the mid 30's and by 2100 RPM into the 40's. Comes up fast I have to record it with a camera stuck to the side window and right it down on playback. I will do this tomorrow hopefully with the S367 if it stops raining.

Thanks for your testing and documentation. It has to be a lot of work, with no real return, but I for one appreciate seeing good solid testing like this.

Didn't take ya long to make that swap. Looking forward to your back pressure data and track times.

I presumed spinning the tires. It's been so long since I had a truck to spin the tires like that. Dang heavy trucks and tools to fix things..... 😟

I think I might send the 70mm back to you like we talked about and have you put the 67 wheel on it and try that one next. All depends on how this one test out.
