Tarm-Suggest a new thread modeled after the SRP1 Field Report...."self moderate" it if you well...define the criterea/purpose of the thread up front...keep it on track....this thing is jumping around some...good info, but you'll need to be a "data miner" to make any use of it a month or two from now. In the end, I agree my humble experience with these 200%ers has me concluding I can't see why you'd do any other nozzle. I think some of these tuners don't give themselves enough credit....they've got the 200% nozzle nailed in my book....very little/few compromises IMHO.

TARM-One more humble/quick recommendation for your proposed new thread...then I'll leave you alone.

If pics are a thousand words...then vids are a ten thousand. I've been reading this thread and others about 200% nozzles...and trying to come up with an objective way to capture haze/smoke....how would you do it...full power acceleration, towing, cold start idle, etc...

I think if folks were able, vids that showed the truck exhaust at cruise under no load, and then transiting to a load (i.e. hill or accelerating on flat ground using the cruise button), would be something all could replicate. I know the hill/gradient will be different...but at least it would demonstrate some benchmark by using the cruise control to hold speed...and the cruise accel button would provide some measure of standardized acceleration.....just a thought. Lots of those floating around in my head though...occasionally carrying on conversation with each other...with different voices sometimes..:eek:

So maybe hand out some gold stars to folks in the proposed new thread for posting a vid like that, or whatever you felt appropriate. I'll try and get one up quick after I see your thread so I can be a doer not a talker on this point...

I think that woudl work very well and I agree woudl offer the best evidence of what each was trying to communicate in terms of level of smoke haze etc.. Good idea.

I will personally be doing this as soon as I take care of my ICP issue.


This would also likely be of immense help when owners are trying to communicate to their tuners what levels they are seeing. I would think that combines with some data logging would allow tune updates to be more effective.

I would love to see a 200% thread. Would be nice if we could take it to a level where the ONLY way you could post is if your running 200% or have tuned for 200% nozzles. That way only experience/true data would be mentioned. Try to weed out the, "what if i want 200% nozzles but only have a stock turbo". or "will 200% nozzles smoke a lot?".

I had that one thread describing my towing experiences. I'd still love to get a hold of those pics and see if anyone took video of my pass at Bandimere this weekend... at least the 2nd pass where I actually got the torque converter to lock up correctly :cursing:

I also like the video idea mentioned earlier. I have videos recorded of me running stock injectors with several different race tunes, including my own (and a few others), and it shows the amount of smoke under different conditions - such as taking off from a stop and rolling into the throttle at low RPM cruising.

Maybe I could duplicate that with the 200% nozzles and have some comparison vids.

Looks like there's is some fantastic info on here with alot of other excellent tests in the making!! So far im still having trouble deciding on sticks. 100% or 200%....im stuck.
